Knowledge Organisers

Our newly updated Knowledge Organisers are designed to help students master key concepts across the curriculum by presenting essential facts, vocabulary, and visuals in a clear, structured format. Acting as both teaching aids and revision tools, they support pupils in building strong subject knowledge, making connections between topics, and retaining information over time. Used regularly in lessons and at home, they encourage independent study habits and deepen understanding, while also ensuring consistency and progression in learning.

Knowledge Organisers are embedded into the teaching and learning process and play a central role in our Morning Meetings. Students use them during daily knowledge recall quizzes, which are carefully designed to transfer working knowledge into long-term memory. Each organiser has been radically updated to include the core content required for progression and assessment.

Organisers are issued each semester (two per year), with page counts varying by subject based on contact time and content volume. Some pages also offer practical support for subjects like music. Morning Meeting quizzes follow the sequence of content in the organisers, and a guide to weekly quiz references is below. Students are encouraged to use their organisers as revision tools and treat the quizzes as opportunities to test and strengthen their recall of key knowledge.

Our Whole School Curriculum Intent

• To promote a love of learning and provide an environment for all students to succeed in whatever they aspire to do.
• Place high value on the breadth, acquisition, retention and application of knowledge.
• To enrich and bridge gaps in cultural knowledge.
