At Benton Park we want to motivate all students to do well. Students who follow our Uniform, In Lesson and Around School Expectations will be rewarded with stamps - our school reward system. Each week students can earn 10 stamnps for a clean slate. A Clean Slate is awarded for any student who has followed all of our expectations, including wearing the correct uniform and following our In Lesson and Around School Expectations.
Students can also be rewarded with stamps for their effort and achievement in lessons and for their contribution to school.
At Benton Park we want all students to be able to reach their full potential and to encourage all students to make the right choice in ensuring they follow the correct Uniform, In Lesson and Around School Expectations.
Students choosing not to follow the Uniform, In Lesson and Around School Expectations will be sanctioned in the following ways:
|Phase 1||Verbal Warning||A Verbal warning is not recorded in the planner and will only be given in lessons.|
|Phase 2||Written Negative Comment||The comment is recorded in the planner and the Clean Slate for the week is lost.|
|Phase 3||Two Written Negative Comments||Students are given a Private Detention, 10 minutes within the school day|
|Phase 4||Three Negative Written Comments||Student is given an After School Detention, 1 hour at the end of the school day.|
|Phase 5||Three After School Detentions||Student is placed in Isolation, removed from normal lessons and social time.|
A student will only move up the phases if they persist in not meeting the Uniform, In Lesson and Around School Expectations. Students are encouraged to make the right choice to ensure that the issue is rectified quickly.
A student who fails to attend an After School Detention will automatically have this sanction doubled, putting them closer to a Phase 5 Isolation.
At Benton Park we want students to have a positive experience and we work with students to ensure they have a positive Attitude to Learning.
