Benton Park School Governing Body

The day to day management of Benton Park is the responsibility of the Headteacher but the Governing Body is responsible for overseeing all aspects of school life and has statutory responsibilities for the following areas:

  • Setting the school's vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  • Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its students;
  • Ensuring sound financial management of the school budget.

Our Governing Body has twelve members comprising of the Headteacher and eleven governors. The governors meet regularly and work closely with the Headteacher to ensure outstanding educational provision for every student at the school.

The governors are appointed in a number of different categories, representing the various groups with an interest in the school. Each governor brings with them different skills and experience which creates a strong and effective Governing Body. Associate governors are sometimes appointed specifically for the skills they offer.  Details of the basis of appointment and term of office for each of our governors can be found by clicking on the Governing Body Structure page.
