The Friends of Benton Park was launched on Thursday 5th December 2013. The key aims of this association are:

  • Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents/carers and others associated with the school.
  • Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which will support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

The association will hold events which will provide social opportunities for parents, careers, staff and friends of the school, which will help support the school by raising funds.

The Friends of Benton Park endeavour to help the school in other ways, such as by contributing their time and expertise to specific projects, which will improve the learning environment for our students.

Quiz and Curry Night a Great Success

The inaugural 'Friends of Benton Park' fundraiser was on Friday 6th December.

The 'Friends of Benton Park' put on their first fundraising event on Friday 6th December, with around 100 people attending the 'Quiz and Curry Night' and vying for the Winners Trophy!

The evening was a rip-roaring success with Quizmaster, Mr Shakeshaft and ex-student James Nightingale keeping everyone entertained throughout the evening. The kitchen staff produced a feast of different curries and side dishes and Mr Scarlett made sure everyone had a drink in hand!

The winners were The Mad Inmates, who pipped The Governors to the Winners Trophy by one point!!

The school are looking forward to the next event and would like to thank all involved.

Race Night a Huge Success

The recent Race Night held at Benton Park School raised approximately £1000. Over 80 people attended the event held in the School Hall which was organised by the Friends of Benton Park. Benton Park’s Association chairman Mark Ross said, “This was a fantastic evening and has raised a huge amount of money that will be spent by the Friends of Benton Park to enhance the experience of all the students.” Candy Buffets, a local company donated their services for the evening putting on a chocolate and Champagne fountain in the owner’s enclosure. As an organisation we are continually seeking extra committee members to help in future events. If you are interested please contact Nicola Wright on 01132502330.
