Extended SchoolsBenton Park is one of a number of schools forming the "Aireborough Communuty Action" cluster. The aim of this group is to meet and exceed the Government targets for Extended Schools/Extended Services by 2010 and already there are a wide range of services being provided for pupils, parents and othres in the local community. These activities are being developed and extended within the cluster and during the course of the next academic year, many new initiatives will come on line. At Benton, we already have a wide range of sporting activities for pupils and adults through our evening and holiday clubs; there are "drop in" sessions in the Student Support Centre covering a range of topics delivered by the Schools Nursing Service; the Youth Service and Community Police.We have a theatre group; a Salsa dance class, which organises monthly dances and a Motorcyle training school based at Benton Park, as well as many academic classes for those wishing to further their education. We are well on the way to providing a comprehensive range of activities and services for all members of the community but if you have any questions or requests, please contact Geoff Scott at school.
