Welcome To The Benton Park Media Department Website
This website has been developed by one of our students to explain to you the audience about different aspects of the Media world and also to give you information on different course that we offer at GCSE. This website also gives you a taster of what different different elements Media involves. The repertoire of elements is on the toolbar to the left and each page gives a brief desciption and visual aids to show you what you can study next year at GCSE. We look at everything from Genre right through to Framing. It's a fun filled year. But whats the difference between BTEC Media and Media Studies. Well we shall describe this for you now.
Differences
BTEC Media: - A vocational course following the BTEC National guide lines. Has no exam at the end of it and final grade is based on coursework. The 2006 students (Adam Findlay who made this website is a 2006 student) have created a website and also filmed and edited a documentary. You either get a Fail (F), a Pass (P), a Merit (M) or a Distinction (Dist).
Media Studies: - Not as much practical work however throughly rewarding Media Studies was the first introduced Media subject at school. It is graded like a GCSE and is based on coursework and a final exam. You study more topics at Media Studies than you would at BTEC however you don't study them at such a greater length.
