Media Language

Welcome to the key concept Media Language. During the two years of either BTEC Media or Media Studies. Your child will learn about this concept and use it equally during the course. Its simple. We are going to describe the simple thing which is incorporated into this concept. A thing called NVC (or Non Verbal Communication).

 

This is guitarist of Alice Coopers band. His name is Ryan Roxie. We are going to analyse this image using NVC. NVC uses the following things below: -

Gaze: - Ryan is looking challenging and aggresive as this is the rocker image.

Facial Expression: - Ryans face is macho and is staring down the camera as if to say "Yeah come on" it reflects the rocker image.

Gesture: - He is gesturing to be macho and the way hes stood kinder arched backwards suggests to the audience he's a macho character.

Posture: - Stood arching backwards, stiff upper body, shows his macho stance and rocker image.

Body Contact: - *no body contact*

Clothes and Appearance: - Dressed in black as he's a rocker and also features in Alice Coopers band. He is wearing eye liner and his hair is messy. His clothes reflect the image he portrays on stage and the guitars he is holding show he is a guitarist.
