Follow the retirement of Mr Taggert after 34 years teaching at Benton Park, Mr P Swain has taken over as Work-Related Co-ordinator. Please contact him at school if you have any queries.

The first group of 12 pupils successfully completed their 2-year Work Related course this summer. Designed for students who are less suited by the standard curriculum, the pupils take part in a variety of courses which help build their confidence, increase their ability to work with others and give them experience of the world of work.

The students also follow an academic programme and they have all passed their GCSEs in English, Maths, Science and RE as well as qualifying in Interactive Media. They also take a variety of vocational courses including Hairdressing, Child Care and Plumbing.

The school's Co-ordinator, Les Taggart said, 'The course has been a great success. The kids have been smashing and have all got jobs or places on college courses'.
