Mrs J A Frame appointed Lead Practitioner for specialist schools and academies trust
Outline of Lead Practitioner Role
Last September DfES announced an entitlement for pupils in England to learn how to cook so that cooking stays with children for life, From 2008 every young person age 11 – 14 can learn basic cooking skills through lessons in food preparation, diet and nutrition, hygiene and safety and wise food shopping.
Lead practitioner role:
- To help develop resources
- Help devise training plans
- To pilot on-line resources
- Deliver regional training
- Support those schools that do not have specialist food technology facilities and/or staff.
- Forge links with local organisations to support schools to enable all children to take part
Benton Park Technology College will facilitate training for the Yorkshire and Humberside Region.
