Curriculum Provision

Through the curricular Physical Education programme we aim to offer a broad and balanced programme offering a minimum of 2 hours high quality PE and Sport.

The range of activities offered at the school include Netball, Hockey, Pop Lacrosse, Football, Rugby (League and Union), Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Tennis, Table Tennis, Rounders, Softball, Athletics, Cricket, Gymnastics, Dance, OAA, Health Related Exercise, Body Line Gym visits, Trampolining, Kayaking, and Self-Defence.

Schemes of work outline a planned approach to health-related activity to ensure that the national curriculum requirements are being met.

Cross-curricular links in Art, Geography, ICT, Mathematics, History, English, Performing Arts, Health and Social Xare, MFL, Technology, Business Studies/Economics and the Library will complement physical activity by reinforcing the knowledge, understanding and self-management skills needed to maintain a physically active lifestyle.

Out of School Hours Opportunities

 Our extra-curricular programme will aim to be varied and flexible to include competitive and non-competitive, team and individual based clubs, appropriate for all our pupils. Pupils are consulted via a pupil survey about which activities they would like to participate in. Their views are considered when devising the programme.

Inter-Form Competitions
Each year group has eight forms (eleven in sixth form) and competitions are offered between these forms in the following activities: Football, Rounders, Arm wrestling, dominoes, tug of war, volleyball.
