INVISIBLE CHILDREN:

THE RESCUE

Do you really know what's happening in the world today? Did you know that over 600 people were massacred on Christmas day 2008 In Uganda?

The Invisible Children charity have been working closely with the country to rebuild what was ruined by war...

Uganda Children

War affected children are in abundance in Uganda.

Year after year, thousands of children are kidnapped from their families and forced to become a solider by rebel army leader, Joseph Kony. The invisible children charity was born in the spring of 2003 and from then on it has helped the children of Uganda be free from Konys rule. Not only that, it has rebuilt destroyed schools; its charity work has touched the lives of people of Uganda and helped them get back onto their feet.

Since the charity’s first film, night commuting ended, this is where the children had to run during the night in fear of people captured by Joseph and his army; not knowing where they would later end up by morning time. Although Invisible children so much for this cause, it is still not enough; this is where you come in. On the 25th April 2009, they are holding an event called ‘the rescue’. Over the years, their events have proved so successful to Uganda’s fight for freedom.

People the world over, are abducting themselves, by camping out in the streets in their local area for the night. This is just a taster of life if life for the children of Northern Uganda. This event is said to be a hit, with people attending in their areas, all over the world; the aim is too get the word out there and too most definitely save the children without a voice- for the invisible children to be returned home.

But there is other ways you can help to! Schools up and down the country have been screening the videos given by the charity and have been so moved that they have been organizing events left, right and center. In June of this year, Benton park school will be holding a benefit concert in honour of this plight; so come on and get stuck in and raise as much money as you can- to give the children over there, a little hope from the children over here.
