To introduce students to some key themes concepts and theory in Interpersonal Psychology and to develop a greater understanding of their own and other peoples behaviour. Key themes include interpersonal skills, assertion, stress management, communication and managing behaviour. |

Looks at work with young people in the UK through formal and non-formal education, with a particular focus on youth and community work. Themes include issues affecting young people, methods of youth work, anti-social behaviour and the impact of legislation on opportunities for young people.

The aim is to develop the ability of students to make realistic career choices in both the short and longer terms. Themes include Perspectives on work and career development, Barriers and alternative routes, self assessment exercises, work, leisure and their relationships to life choices and life styles.
